About Us
Fujifilm is committed to saving lives through early detection of breast cancer with mammography - a mission shared by the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
To that end, Fujifilm created Images of Health: Mammograms for a Million Moms, a public awareness and education program encouraging all women over 40 to get an annual mammogram. Breast cancer is most treatable when detected in its earliest stages, and mammography is still the number one method of detecting the disease.
Images of Health: Mammograms for a Million Moms is not just for moms. It is directed to all women, as well as to the family and friends who love them. Anyone can make the pledge on behalf of the women in his or her life. Just remember to follow through and make sure she actually gets screened!
In addition to creating the Web site and encouraging pledges, Fujifilm has taken an active role in both spreading awareness of the importance of early detection and providing free mammograms.
- To kick off this campaign Fujifilm donated $250,000 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation which funds mammograms for women in need.
- Through the NBCF, Fujifilm has also donated digital mammography systems to two hospitals that previously did not have this technology. Howard University Hospital, Washington, D.C., and the Nancy Reagan Breast Center, Simi Valley, Calif., now offer the patients in their communities access to the leading technology for diagnosing breast cancer.
- Free mammograms were offered in New York City at PS 149 on 117th St. in Harlem and at Hunter College at 68th St. and Lexington Ave., providing more than 60 women with mammograms they otherwise may never have gotten.
Help us to continue increasing awareness of the importance of early detection. Help us save lives.
