The 19th Annual Congress on Women's Health in Washington, DC, will host a "Point-Counterpoint: The Mammography Controversy" debate to evaluate the appropriate age, frequency and patient benefit of mammography screening, the Congress said.

The meeting will be held April 1 through 3, and will include physicians, nurses and other providers, featuring presentations on practical and clinical information; innovations in therapy and protocol; advances in diagnosis and patient management; and ongoing women's health research.

The "Point-Counterpoint" mammography presentation will include Wendie Berg, MD, PhD, visiting professor of radiology at Magee-Womens Hospital at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, and Steven Woolf, MD, MPH, professor of family medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) School of Medicine in Richmond, Va.

The Congress on Women's Health is sponsored by the VCU Institute for Women's Health, the Journal of Women's Health, the National Cancer Institute, the National Institutes of Health Office of Research on Women's Health and the American Medical Association, among other organizations.
