Privacy Policy

Our Commitment to Privacy. Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this Privacy Policy explaining our online information practices and the way your personal information is collected and used. To make this Privacy Policy easy to find, we make it available on every page on our Web site.

Scope of the Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy applies to all information collected by or submitted on the http://www.imagesofhealth.com Web site (the “Site”) operated by FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. ("FMSU").

The Information We Collect and How It Is Used. This policy covers personal information and other information that FMSU collects through your use of the Site, including in connection with any sweepstakes or contest.  Specifically, FMSU may collect your personal information from online registrations and forms, communications and other inquiries.   In addition, we may gather user preferences, such as areas of interest and other information as indicated by your use of the Site. We may ask for your name, mailing address and/or e-mail address so that we can administer a sweepstakes or contest and notify the winners, share your information with FMSU-affiliated companies or partners to the Site, market our products, or otherwise as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

You have the option to indicate on our on-line registration form that you would like to receive promotional information as well as updates on new products and services from FMSU, any FMSU-affiliated company or any partner of the Site by e-mail or otherwise.  In such case, the personal information you share will only be used to provide you with such information and updates as you request.

You have the option as part of our on-line registration and contact forms to opt out of any of the Site’s information-sharing features or marketing communications we may send to you at any time.  In addition, you may request that we immediately remove your information from our Share Your Story feature, at which time we will cease any future use of your information in any manner (however, we cannot delete any authorized or unauthorized information already distributed to unaffiliated third parties prior to our receiving your request).  You can opt out of any information sharing by returning to your registration or contact form and changing your preferences, or by emailing us at katie.reynolds@fujimed.com, indicating “opt-out” in the subject line and specifying your concerns in the body of the email.   FMSU shares information with partners of the Site only after providing users with the ability to opt out of such sharing.

In addition to the information specified above, FMSU may collect information about your use of the Site through electronic communications protocols and cookies.  As is true when you visit most Web sites, FMSU may automatically receive information from you as part of the communication connection itself, including network routing information (where you came from), equipment information (browser type), your IP address, and date and time.  We may use such information to enhance the design of the Site and help us to understand the needs of visitors to the Site.  Cookies are benign bits of code, placed on your hard drive, that are designed to record only the particular information that you volunteer to us when you visit the Site.  Cookies can store preferences or settings as a convenience to you.  This is a common and safe practice that has been in use for years.  Cookies do not extract, nor are they tied to, private or personal information from your computer hardware or peripherals.  FMSU may use cookies in connection with the Site; in addition, some cookies may be generated by systems not under our control.

We also may use personal information we gather for statistical purposes, including to track the number of individuals who visited a certain area on the Site, or to determine by gender the users who completed an on-line form, but such use by us does not personally identify any user to the Site.

Share Your Story. When you enter information for the Share Your Story feature at http://www.imagesofhealth.com/share_story.htm, we ask for your name, address (including zip code), email address, gender, age and photograph or video.  We also ask you to provide detailed information about your experience with mammography.  FMSU reserves the right to publish or use only your first name and city, and a photo or video, if you provide them, for purposes of promoting awareness of women's health and mammography on the Site, the www.fujimed.com Web site, in press releases, in connection with promotions or other marketing, and in social media, and by submitting such information you explicitly consent to such use by us.  Nothing requires us to use any of your information in any manner.  FMSU reserves the right to excerpt or edit the information provided by you to the Share Your Story feature as required for length or to protect your, or others’, privacy rights. Your information is not used for any other purpose and your personal information (except as otherwise set forth in this paragraph) is not shared with third parties, unless you specifically consent to the use thereof by providing such information as part of your contribution to the Share Your Story feature or if you elect to receive additional information from FMSU or partners to the Site.

Tell A Friend. In order to spread the word about the Site to as broad an audience as possible, we offer a feature that enables you to email a link to the Site to a friend. If you elect to use this referral service, we will ask you for the friend's name and email address.  The Site will automatically generate and send the friend a one-time email inviting him or her to visit the Site.  We use this personal information for the sole purpose of sending this one-time email.

Third Party Web Sites.  This Privacy Policy governs only information collected on the Site.  The Site may contain links to other Web sites not maintained by or affiliated with the Site or FMSU (each a “Linked Site”).  Such links are provided solely as pointers to information on topics that may be interesting or useful to users of the Site.  FMSU has no control over the content of any Linked Site.  If you choose to link to a Web site not controlled by FMSU, we make no warranties, either express or implied, regarding the content of such Linked Sites, including the accuracy, completeness or reliability of any such site for any particular purpose.  We do not warrant that any Linked Site, or the content of such site, does not infringe the rights of third parties, or that the Linked Site, or its content, is free of viruses or other contamination.  FMSU does not guarantee the authenticity of any documents or other information found on any Web sites not controlled by FMSU. The Linked Site may contain its own privacy policy and, if applicable, your use of the Linked Site will be governed by such policy. Similarly, if you entered the Site through another Web site, you may be subject to the privacy policy of such originating Web site, if applicable.

Required Disclosure of Information. FMSU will disclose personal information if required by law or valid court order, and may disclose such information if we reasonably believe that such disclosure is necessary to:

  • Comply with the law;
  • Protect and defend the rights and property of FMSU or the users of its Web sites; or
  • Protect the personal safety of FMSU's employees, users of its Web sites, or the public.

In all such cases, FMSU will use reasonable efforts, if available, to limit the personal information it discloses.

Security.  We have in place physical, administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access.  FMSU will never ask you for your personal information in an unsolicited telephone call or in an unsolicited e-mail.  Fraudulent online techniques are called “phishing” scams, where others pose as a reputable company to trick users into divulging such information.  You should be vigilant about to whom and under what circumstances you supply any personal information.

In the event that your personal information is acquired by an unauthorized person, or is reasonably believed by us to have been so acquired, we will notify you by email, fax or U.S. mail if applicable law requires notification.

Our Commitment to Children's Privacy. Protecting the privacy of the young is especially important. No parts of the Site are intended to be accessed by anyone under the age of majority in his or her respective jurisdiction.  Individuals under the age of majority in their respective jurisdictions are prohibited from (a) entering any sweepstakes or contests offered on the Site, or (b) submitting any information to the Site.

Consent. By accessing, browsing or otherwise using the Site, you are consenting to the collection, storage and disclosure of information as described in this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use.

Changes to the Privacy Policy. FMSU reserves the right to change, amend or update this Privacy Policy. In the event of any revisions or amendments, we will post the revised Privacy Policy here on the Site to keep you informed regarding the information we collect, how we use it, under what circumstances we may disclose it and to whom we may disclose it. Please check this page from time to time for changes to make sure you are aware of our latest privacy practices. Continued use of the Site after any posted revision indicates your consent to our use of your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy as changed, amended or updated.
