I am 63 years old and have faithfully gone for my mammogram since I was 40 years old. I excercise and try to eat right. I keep all my yearly maintenance appoitments. This past Judy I was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer. I had surgery and a mammosite injection so I only had radiation twice a day for 5 days. It was like a train wreck. I never thought it could happen to me. Last year nothing showed up. The doctors are confident they got it all and I'll be fine but I still get nervous when I think about the results of my first mammogram four months from now. I had wonderful doctors and caregivers, who made this ordeal easier. I also had my family by my family and friends by my side every step of the way. Everyone should be encouraged to get their yearly mammograms. It could save your life.
