My story is about realizing skipping just one annual mammogram can be serious. In my case, I was lucky. From the initial mammogram, the second mammogram, the ultrasound, and finally the stereotactic biopsy,I spent two weeks in fear of the "what if it's cancer" syndrome. Lying in bed at night wondering if this dreaded disease was eating away at my life caused a lot of stress and sleepless nights. I am committed to having my annual mammograms and encourage others to do the same especially my daughter. Most healthcare plans consider this part of the preventive program and it's free to the Associate. There are no excuses for neglecting an annual mammogram.
