My mother is one of the strongest women I know. In November 2009 she learned that she had breast cancer and was scheduled to have surgery to remove the cancer in December. Before she could begin her treatments, she lost her husband of more than 50 years. She continued on, not missing a treatment and is cancer free at this time.
